We do not recommend LATEX BALLOON RELEASES
Balloon releases have been popular in the past. They
help give closure to a grieving process, or celebrate a
remembrance, but they cause a lot of environmental
damage. Even if the balloon is biodegradable.
They are good for the soul but bad for the environment.
Say NO to balloon releases!
We have been supplying only the best quality 100% natural
rubber latex balloons in Coffs Harbour for just under 30
years. We have been told many times, we have the the best
looking balloons in Coffs Harbour.
The balloons we use ARE BIODEGRADABLE and in the
Coffs climate they biodegrade at a faster rate than they
would in a colder climate.
Ageing and degrading is accelerated by our heat, humidity
and sea air.
If you are a keen gardener and make proper compost you
can turn our latex balloon waste into soil in under 12 months.
ALL BALLOONS ARE NOT EQUAL - almost all balloons
sold in the bigger stores have a synthetic base. They sell at
a cheaper price point and are compounded to improve shelf
life. Depending on the compounding they may degrade over
time but often very slowly.
Our balloons ARE BIODEGRADABLE
We also use and supply FOIL balloons
The term FOIL covers a range of types - some with special
uses. The most common foil balloon is made of Mylar. This
is not readily biodegradable.
PIN IT and BIN IT ! … All non-latex balloon products, clips
and ribbons, should be collected and disposed of in your
non recyclable rubbish.
NEVER RELEASE FOIL Balloons they can cause
considerable damage to power lines, even aircraft.
A whisper - Trade secret …
A true biodegradable balloon will start to loose its shiny
new look within about 12 hours, depending on the humidity.
The surface begins to oxidise developing a dull patina that
increases with exposure age.
Air filled latex balloons can be prepared in advance of your
event and stored overnight in large black garbage bags.
Stored like this, they will hold their nice new look for
several days.
Keep used balloons out of our waterways …
PIN IT and BIN IT !
